An access road to the Tauernwindpark, the so called "Höhenstraße",
already exists. The lower part of the road is paved and is used
by the farmers who have grounds along the road. The upper part is
of gravel and is used for forestry purposes and for access to the
Klosterneuburger Hütte.
The "Höhenstraße" is narrow, winding, in some
parts steep and has many sharp curves. It was clear that this road
would not be suitable in its original state for the transportation
of the long, wide, large and heavy wind turbine pieces. It was decided
that, between the Hochegger-Landesstraße and the Tauernwindpark,
the access road would be improved and adapted for building of the
wind park.
Data about the access road:
Total length: 11,510 m
Width: 3.50 m
Shoulder on both sides: 0.75 m suitable for axle load of 15 tons
Radius of the outer curves: 15 m
Radius of the inner curves: 7 m
Inside width in 1 m is 4.20 m and overhead clearance is 6 m.
