The last foundation was put in on 17 July 2002. One last check
to make sure that the reinforcement and anchorage of the tower foundation
sections were properly prepared and the pouring of concrete can
begin.
In order to keep the tower foundation sections
clean, they are kept wrapped in plastic.
After the concrete has hardened (about 3 days),
the formwork is removed and the building pit filled in.
The blocks of ground surface are put back into
place as soon as possible. This will give the grass and earth enough
time before winter to regenerate.
One foundation needs 245m² of concrete
which is equivalent to 41 trips with a concrete mixing truck.
