Permits

Wind Park

The enthusiasm the area´s inhabitants showed for the project really helped the positive outcome of the permit procedure. This widely felt approval was the result of keeping the public informed about the project through numerous events, regularly held discussion groups in a local restaurant and the continual flow of information through the media.

Grid Network to Teufenbach

In order to deliver the produced electricity from the wind park to the transformer station in Teufenbach, a 30kV underground cable with a length of about 21 kilometers would have to be put in.

Access Road

One of the most difficult steps on the way to realisation of the wind park was an agreement about the access road. The so called "Höhenstrasse", a winding mountain road, already existed and seemed the best route for reaching the Kobaldeck. However the road had been constructed by two private road co-operatives and had 20 different farming families as owners.

It took over three years (1999 - 2002) to find a suitable solution for all the involved parties. This included three meetings with the province officials, many municipal council meetings and resolutions, meetings with the mayor and over 150 private talks with the property owners. The Tauernwind bought all the concerned properties since improvement and enlargement of the road would be necessary in order to build the wind park and for accessibility in the future. The property owners still would have the legal rights to use the road.

The property owners were paid over EUR 650,000.

Permits from the forestry, water and conservation departments were necessary before work could be done on the access road.

Having the accessibility problem solved was one of the most important steps for granting of the building permit.
