Data Acquisition

The data logger is a wind computer which is able to store the wind values measured by the anemometers in statistics and time series. The basis for all further evaluations are the "scan values" which were set to occur every 10 seconds. The "scan values" were processed and stored every 10 minutes calculating average and extreme readings as well as the standard deviation.

The memory capacity of the data logger was set to cover a 3 month period based on the 10 second "scan values" and 10 minute averages.

Mobile Data Acquisition

January 2002 in Oberzeiring

Data from the logger could be read out by means of a RS232 socket and laptop at the site or by the GSM modem long distance monitoring system. In order to save energy, the modem was set to read out the data 2 times daily for only one hour.
